Crew Deal Memo

As an Independent Filmmaker, (a.k.a. the Producer of a/your Project), you will be auditioning Independent Crew Members for your Project. As an Independent the Crew Member is not an employee, nor partner, nor agent of the Producer and/or of the Production Company.

The Crew Deal Memo is a short form Agreement for the services of Independent Crew Member who volunteers her/his skills, time and effort for no remuneration.

The Independent Crew Member’s only compensations are meals on the set, a DVD of the finished Project and the Crew Member’s name on an email list notifying her/him of a public showing of the Project.

This Agreement between the independent Crew Member and the Producer is drafted in plain English that is easy to read and comprehend. This is a one page, five clause legal Agreement. The Agreement may be filled in on your computer or printed out and filled in later. Your Lawyer will draft any and all other clauses for your Project’s unique situations and circumstances.

This Agreement is part of the Producer’s Deal.

Herein this Agreement the Independent Filmmaker is the “Producer”.
1. Subject to Confidentiality, and the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Producer hereby engages the Crew Member as an “Independent Crew Member” to perform the services set forth herein, and the Crew Member hereby accepts such engagement.

2. The Crew Member understands that the above named Project is an Independent Project that may or may not make any Profit. The Crew Member freely and honestly gives her/his skills, time and effort to the Project gratis.

3.Consumption of Drugs or Alcohol before or during the Crew Member’s time on the Project, or creating a disturbing nuisance, will command immediate dismissal from . . . (continued)
