Sound Mixer Agreement
As an Independent Filmmaker, (a.k.a. the Producer of a/your Project), you will be auditioning an independent Sound Mixer for your Project. As an independent the Sound Mixer is not an employee, nor partner, nor agent of the Producer and/or of the Production Company.
A production Sound Mixer or location sound recordist is the member of a film crew responsible for recording all sound and sound effects on the set during the photography of a Project.
The Sound Mixer is responsible for planning the technical setup involving sound including both sound equipment and ancillary devices involved in syncing and time offsets, anticipating and discussing sound-related problems with the rest of the crew, and preparing the sound equipment to be used on the set. This requires choice and deployment of microphones, choice of recording media, and mixing of audio signals in real time.
Signing this contract the independent Sound Mixer is assigning any and all Rights to their work performance over to the Producer.
This Agreement between the independent Sound Mixer and the Producer is drafted in plain English that is easy to read and comprehend. This is a four page, thirteen clause legal Agreement. The Agreement may be filled in on your computer or printed out and filled in later.
Boiler–plate clauses, amongst others in the Agreement, include: confidentiality, dismissal for drug/alcohol/illegal photographs/nuisance etc., engagement dates, and termination notice. Your Lawyer will draft any and all other clauses for your Project’s unique situations and circumstances.
This Agreement is as part of the Director’s Deal, Producer’s Deal, and the Investor’s Deal.
