How much do movie production companies pay to use your house in a movie…?

Question by Ryan: How much do movie production companies pay to use your house in a movie…?
My grandmother lives in an older house and a guy knocked on her door and said that the producer would like to use her house to film a movie in and around, but I was just wondering, how much do they pay?
They haven’t told how much they pay yet, they still want to look around and stuff.
Well, I can understand if it is a shot on the outside of the house, but they want to go right inside and on the property.

I recently read an article about this and also found a site that helps people market homes to film crews. They claim that production companies pay $ 2,000-$ 10,000 per day to film in residential homes, depending on the size and value of the house, the film’s budget, the importance of the house to the story, etc.
