Assistant Director Contract
he Independent Filmmaker may determine that her/his Project requires an Assistant Director(s). The Assistant Director may be to assist the Director or the Director of Photography.
The duties of an Assistant Director include setting the shooting schedule, tracking daily progress against the Project production schedule, arranging logistics, preparing daily call sheets, checking the arrival of cast and crew, maintaining order on the set, rehearsing cast, and directing extras. Your Lawyer will draft any and all other clauses for your Project’s unique situations and circumstances.
This Agreement between the independent Assistant Director and the Producer is drafted in plain English that is easy to read and comprehend. This is a three page, twelve clause legal Agreement. The Agreement may be filled in on your computer or printed out and filled in later.

Herein this Agreement the independent Filmmaker is called the “Producer”.
1. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the above named and below signed Producer hereby engages the above named and below signed Assistant Director as an “Independent Assistant Director” to perform the services set forth herein, and the Assistant Director hereby accepts such engagement.
2. The Assistant Director shall be responsible for assisting the Director of the Project. The Assistant Director shall coordinate with the Director and o/or Producer or any other person designated to assist in the Production of the Project.
3. The Assistant Director shall not sign any contracts for or on behalf of the Producer nor the Director nor the Project in any way nor manner whatsoever.
4. The Assistant Director will commence duties on ______________, 20__ and continue until _____________, 20___. Consumption of Drugs or Alcohol before or during the Assistant Director’s time on the Project and or creating a nuisance that interrupts the Project in any manner whatsoever will command immediate dismissal from the set and Project.

Director Agreement
The Independent Filmmaker/Producer/Investor will want to employ a Director with a vision agreeable to the Producers. On any set or location of a Project the Director is the commander. The Director is hired for the period of principal photography as well as the time needed beforehand to prepare for filming (pre-production) and time post-production to supervise editing (post-production). The Director may also work with the Writer during development.
The Director may have the right to select key personnel such as the Director of Photography, Production Manager, Editor, and perhaps certain Cast and Crew. A Director is typically hired on an exclusive basis, preventing her/him from accepting outside employment and/or working on more than one Project at a time. The Director may be required to produce three versions of the film: one for theatrical release, another for television broadcast and a longer version called the Director’s Cut.
This Agreement between the independent Director and the Producer/Investor is drafted in plain English that is easy to read and comprehend. This is a five page, seventeen clause legal Agreement. The Agreement may be filled in on your computer or printed out and filled in later.

Producer Agreement
The Independent Filmmaker is often the Producer also. Generally the Independent Filmmaker must do the job of two producers.
The “Executive Producer” is the dealmaker, the financier. In an independent film the Investor is often the Executive Producer. On the set or on location the Executive Producer is watching the shooting schedule, the budget and the money.
The Line Producer is in charge of logistics for the shoot. The Line Producer will hire the crew, order supplies, and equipment and make sure the director has everything she/he needs to make the Project progress smoothly. During production, a Line Producer will work on one film at a time.

This Agreement is entered into with reference to the following facts:
(i) The above named and below signed Investor(s) intends to Finance and Produce the above named Project.
(II) The Investor(s) wishes to utilize the services of the above named and below signed Producer as a “Producer” in connection with the Project production and delivery of the above named Project upon the terms and conditions herein contained.
ACCORDINGLY, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Subject to events of force majeure, default, or the disability or death of Producer, Investor(s) hereby engages the services of Producer, and Producer agrees to render exclusive services as a producer, in connection with the production of the Project upon the terms and conditions herein contained. Subject to Investor(s)’s final approval, Producer shall supervise the testing of persons proposed for the cast, scouting for shooting locations, assembling the crew, the supervision of the photography of the Project, assisting in the supervision of the editing, and sound mixing, assisting in the selection of music, assisting in the supervision of the final dubbing and scoring, the supervision of all other post-production requirements of the Project, the delivery of the final answer print and all other customary delivery items to Investor(s) and its principal distributors, foreign and domestic, and perform such other services as are reasonably required by Investor(s) and are usually and customarily performed by producers in the Project industry. Producer will report to such place(s) as are reasonably designated by Investor(s), and will be available at all times and for such periods of time as are reasonably designated by Investor(s). Producer will advise Investor(s) of Producer’s whereabouts so that Producer may be reached at any reasonable hour of the night or day. During the term of employment, Producer will render his services at all places and at all times reasonably required by Investor(s), including nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
2. Producer shall render the services required of him as set forth in paragraph 1 hereof during the period commencing on _____________________, 20 ____ and continuing thereafter for such time as pre-production, production of the Project, and customary post-production and delivery of the Project as required by Investor(s).
