1 Child Actor/Model’s Preparation before Arrival
Time is money spent by the hour on a set. As parent/guardian it is your responsibility to ensure:
- Your child knows any and all lines well-rehearsed and memorized
- You have prepared your child for the location of the set
- You have any and all necessary/required paperwork for your child
- You have reviewed the Contract and sought proper Legal Advice as necessary to protect your actor/model’s Rights and Compensation
- Arrive on set early
You have reviewed proper set etiquette with your child actor/model.
2 Supporting Your Child Actor/Model
On the Set
Your child actor/model has won the part. Congratulations.
It is your responsibility, and one trusts your joy, to support your child’s confidence on the set.
Encourage calmness, attentiveness and a positive attitude during the filming or photographic session.
3 Be Attentive to Child Actor/Model’s
Well-being and Personal Needs
On the Set
As a Parent or Guardian of your child Actor/Model on a set always:
- Be available
- Ask for washroom breaks
- Remain profession at all times
- Be encouraging but not dominating of your child
- Demonstrate a positive attitude
- Avoid disrupting set in any manner
- Enjoy your child’s performance and being her/his parent/guardian
4 Protect You Child Actor/Model’s Personal Privacy
While On the Set
Any person on the Set that you, as the parent/guardian of your child actor/model, do not know well personally, is an unknown quantity as a person. Avoid discussing or disclosing:
- any and all personal information of any kind
- No birthday
- No home address
- No Facebook, Instagram etc. – nor social media link of any kind whatsoever
- No school name
- No sibling nor relatives’ names
- No sports teams, dancing. Singing lessons info/times
Keep your child Actor/Model’s personal life strictly and most effectively private.
