Mis Boon or Over Coffee: Daughters of the Horn is a short documentary that portrays some of the key historical events within Eritrea. It will address the lack of common knowledge for this part of the world through the unique stories of women from that region. Through brief interviews and discussions, their stories and personal experiences will engage and touch any audience. This documentary is 22 minutes in length and, as the title suggests, will uncover the womens experiences through a traditional coffee making ceremony. Objectives of Documentary · * An informational tool for those who are unfamiliar with or have a limited understanding for this part of Africa · * A promotional offer and introduction to a longer film or series of its kind, which will allow for an even more detailed understanding of the subject matters relating to the Eritrean experience from a Canadian context. · * To bring people living in a diverse city together by providing an opportunity for international communities to better understand one other. This project is being funded solely by the filmmaker as an independent production. The interests have been great in numbers, attracting various communities including the youth from post secondary institutions, the various African communities and other members of under-represented communities.
