In February 2009 students studying courses in Games Development, Television and Film Production and Digital Video and Broadcast Production at the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies visited the historic city of Berlin. Here is a documentary about the trip edited by media tutor Jon Laud.

This programme of courses, which includes BA (Hons) Film Production, BA(Hons) Film & TV Screenwriting and BA(Hons) Photography, has been put together to offer degrees which, whilst quite distinct in their aims and content, do also have a number of common areas. Each degree takes an arts approach and is concerned with the development of each individual students ideas and practice. The courses show how to develop and critique ideas, test and evaluate them, and produce them to professional standards. Media is both a fascinating subject to study and major source of employment opportunities for the committed graduate. The Media Practice Programme offers an opportunity to engage actively with a number of areas of practice, developing a range of skills and knowledge that are of enormous value to any student considering a career in the media. Currently, professional practice in the media (whether in the commercial or arts sectors) demands graduates who are flexible in their thinking and can understand and work across a range of areas: for example, photographers will often be expected to turn their hand to video or to produce images (or even sometimes text) for stories. This programme is designed for those who recognise the need for such flexibility as well as in-depth study of a chosen area of practice.
