Question by ayooo: i really wanted to start photography; help! :]?
So, as an aspiring filmmaker, having a good understanding of photography is necessary.
Now, I need two plus cameras.
+a toy camera (i might invest in more than one.)
+a professional camera, but I prefer analog over digital cameras.
I basically searched at 35mm point/shoots on ebay, and i came up with Minoltas, Olympus, Wirgin, Boigtlander, Aires, and a LOT of russian cameras. What should I consider? I dont mind paying up to $ 100 for a toy-though i’d obviously prefer less- and $ 500 for a professional, because i still have to buy a lame camcorder and then a professional camcorder..blahblahblah. you get it. I also want to hit up my thrift stores for cameras, is that a good idea?
So yeah, i’m basically asking which cameras you recommend?
PLUS, i really want lo-fi cameras, and an idea i was looking forward to was one that shoots really grungy bw pictures, with a lot of …crunchy (?) kinda mistakes. I dont know if thats possible. Thank you.

Holga is the more celebrated of the toy cameras. Olympus and others have good P&S, the 35mm Oly Stylus Epic used to the the pro’s pocket camera. I have one that I still use form time to time, although not lately.
As for a “professional” 35mm film camera, the Nikon F100 or F5 would be hard to beat, and they both sell for a fraction of the amount they used to. Try keh.com for used equipment.
