Question by Danny: Am I ready for a girlfriend?
I’m 18, turning 19 this winter, and I have never been in a relationship before. Don’t start making gay jokes cause that’s not the case. Be mature about this. Anyways, the reason I didn’t want a girl in high school was because I thought it was pointless. If you think about it, after high school, everyone moves on, and the relationship isn’t going to last anyways. I thought I would wait till college. So I am now in first year college, and there are girls around that I like, but I don’t know how to approach them. Some of them are older then me, so I don’t want to get into any awkward positions. I would love to have a girl, but I don’t know how to get one. Everyone says to go and talk to them and be yourself. Stop telling me to do that, I can’t Just randomly say, “hey excuse me, you have never seen me before but I would like to know you better.” Basically, I’m afraid of rejection and being embarrassed. Also, I don’t really have any money. I had jobs, but they were only seasonal, and it’s very hard to find time to have one when you go to college everyday and the ride takes 1 and a half hours. Do you guys think I’m ready for a girlfriend? If so, how do I get one? And I don’t know if this is useful information to use but, I play the electric guitar, and I’m studying to be a filmmaker. I already made my first short film. Maybe this info can be used in conversations with her? You guys judge, your call.

No, you are not ready for a girlfriend. I’m sorry to say but you are too busy to be focusing on some girl. Sometimes us girls can be just too much drama especially for a busy guy like you. It will slow you down in what your trying to become. You can have friends that are girls yes but no girlfriend. Your apparently too smart, for a girlfriend. Stay focused on your work. If you get a girlfriend that’s on you. But i’m warning you. You may get your heart broken and won’t be able to get yourself back together because you loved that girl so much. She’ll be distracting you. She’ll also be trying to get into your head to get you to stuff you don’t wanna do. Stay focused and get a girlfriend when you either A) get out of college when you have time and money. or B)Get a girl who really loves you for who YOU are. not who they want you to be.
