This is a short film I did for one of my university classes. I’m afraid that it’s in Japanese and that my Japanese isn’t good. Er. Sorry about that. I tried, though! I tried. And that also accounts for the rather blunt lines I have, I simply didn’t dare venture in the world of complicated phrases…. The credits for directing and editing the thing go to George Adamescu. Thank you for helping me out! Here’s the English transcript (which is probably more grammatically sound than the actual Japanese I’m using in the film): “I wake up in the morning at 6 AM, very sleepy. First, I make tea. It’s an ordinary day. (I really like drinking hot stuff.) Every day, my neighbor brings me the newspaper. That man can speak some sort of dialect of Japanese. “Hello, hello. Hello, hello. Hello, hello.” “I’m fine, thank you. My teapot’s dad was a Shinkansen train, did you know that?” “Hello, hello. Hello, hello. Hello, hello.” “Listen. The sound of the teapot is the same with that of a train, isn’t it. Soon, this teapot is going to become a train.” “Time for work. I’m a writer. My job is to decide people’s lives…. That man, he’s very sad, isn’t he? He wants a happy end. Oh, that train is my ex-teapot. Of course, I can’t always do that….” (aka, give people happy ends) “I’m done for today.” “Wha-?… What’s that? But…” “What’s this?” “I have to buy myself a new teapot.”
