I would like to have a macbook and final cut software but I’m afraid I can’t afford that at the moment….

is there any software similar to final cut since thats only usable for macs?

For Free: MovieMaker which comes bundled with XP and Vista, (and windows 7) is actually a pretty good solution.

If you have a Small version Pinnacle Movie Stuiod is about $ 100 and comes bundled with a Green Screen and other fun things for making movies. Pinnacle is from AVID which is used to create more movies and TV shows than any other software, including Final Cut.

I also like that Pinnacle comes with DVD and BluRay authoring software and works with just about every camcorder on the planet. Including 25 Mbps AVC-HD which Final Cut Barfs on.

Lastly Pinacle handles interlaced content much better than Final Cut, and can publish US content to PAL and vice Versa
