Question by Jackie: Do I need to actually own a production company to write,direct,and star in my own independent film?
I have finished a script for a low budget horror movie and will be directing and playing the lead role in it as well. I hope to get the finished product into several film festivals and possibly get introduced to a distributor. However, my question is…do i need to be operating an actual business in order to produce my own movies?

No you don’t. I know someone who has done just that. However, he had to put every penny he had into doing it and has ruined his life in the process.
