Now when you think dv filmmaking, what does that mean to you? Probably an old tape camcorder in the attic or an out-of-date camcorder. Well, you would be correct on the type of camcorder but there is so much more to that than the device use. You have to put into account why you want to do dv filmmaking. Is it the ease of use? Well, in today’s technology driven world, that is definitely the case. Now you can buy a good filmmaking software, download it on your computer, and edit and publish you work online or at a film festival event. That can mean a greater audience to your great works. And who doesn’t want that? Below are a few tips and ideas to keep in mind when it comes to dv filmmaking. Just remember that there is a lot information out there to help assist you with your path to success.

Figure out what kind of camcorder you want to choose from. Is it an old camcorder dating back to the last decade or is it a complex structure with advance functions? Chances are if you are just starting out in this field, it is best to star with the old camcorder in the attic. Make sure it works, though, otherwise you make have to open your wallet out to getting a new one.
Do your research. Go to a film store or library to learn even more on what kind of film is best for your project. Learn to become an expert in your field.
Create a schedule. Make a plan and stick to it. Don’t get off task with shiny distractions.
Finally, find people to help you out with this niche. You can find your friends to do tasks that you can’t do yourself.

Just have fun at what you are doing. You can do it!
