Question by Picture Imperfect.: Film Project for school: What should I name my film and what songs can I use for a soundtrack?
I’m working on a silent film project for my film class in school with two of my friends. We have some ideas for songs but absolutely no ideas for a name. The film is basically a comedy about a nerd who goes after a swing but she’s bullied by this other girl. We were thinking of having something like The Entertainer play as the nerd walks outside and gets on the swing and stuff. There’s this big chase scene, so we need an up-tempo beat for that. Anyway, back to the story.. The nerd finally builds up the courage to stand up to the bully, but the bully pushes her down again. Then another girl comes along (this is my character, haha) and sees the nerd on the ground and comes over, helps her up, and becomes her friend. The two of them then team up to go against the bully. Then the bully gets upset and shows her sensitive side, so then the nerd and her friend feel bad and help her up. The three of them become friends and the last shot is of us skipping off into the distance.
I know it’s really corny but that’s the point. It’s only supposed to be a four-minute film. All our actual filming is finished, so now we’re editing and we need to add music and think of a good name.
Any advice/ideas? Thanks so much 🙂

I think you should call it “Swing time” and possible keep using different rag-times as the music the song “Stomp” comes to mind.
