Question by Helen T: fundraising, admission charge, or donation?
We are planning, what we hope will be a large fundraiser for “Team World Vision”. We plan on screening a documentary, ( as soon as we get permission from the production company) having entertainment, a silent auction, concessions and a child sponsorship table. What would be the best way to raise the money, charging admission, or “accepting donatins?” I wonder if people would be less likely to give a donation if they had already paid admission, and perhaps the donation might have been larger than the admission price. Any thoughts? Anyone have any experience with this type of fundraising activity?
just in case anyone is interested in donating

We are working toward raising money and awareness of children in African communities that are affected by HIV and AIDS.

People typically give more if you just ask for a donation than if you set a price.
