Here’s some good news for high schools students in New York who are aspiring to enrol in film video schools after graduating to find work in the local film industry. The Tribeca Film Institute (TFI), in another effort to improve the quality of film and media arts education offered by public schools in New York City, is launching a new educational program, this time featuring 2 new initiatives at its core. The program was announced through a press release recently released by the non-profit organization.
The TFI program’s first initiative, named the “Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts: The Moving Image,” is an ambitious project that will bring renowned filmmakers, named by the organization as TFI Teaching Artists, to different public schools in the New York area for an in-school teaching program. The atmosphere is said to be very similar to the classes in film video schools. The initiative will cover at least 100 classrooms in the city, and will provide amazing opportunities to high-school students who may have an interest in the craft.
Meanwhile, the second initiative, known as “Tribeca Teachers,” is TFI’s attempt at bridging gaps and breaking barriers by setting up an after-school program in Chinatown. The initiative is the organization’s first ever bilingual program, aimed at introducing to the Chinese community, the amazing world of film and media arts.
According to newly appointed TFI Executive Director, Beth Janson, the new program provides New York City students with best possible tools to forge a future in the country’s cultural capital.
Indeed, this could be a great stepping stone for future students at New York’s film video schools to know all they can before gunning for higher education.
Both initiatives will lay a strong foundation for students who may later want to enroll in New York’s film video schools.
