Question by SMG: How are we getting whooped by the Taliban?
The Taliban aren’t even a proper army – yet the combined resources of US and UK plus others cannot beat them. The last estimate was that they have a substantial presence in 72% of Afghanistan.

You have to question all the huge sums spent in Britain and USA on military training, sophisticated weapons, advanced communications equipment plus all the satellite intelligence.
The US and UK troops can also call up for air strikes as back up.
How come the highly educated officers produced in Sandhurst and West Point Military Academy cannot outwit the Taliban?
Afghanistan is where the superpowers go to die. Alexander the great was last person to conquer it. We’ve been in this battle for over SEVEN YEARS – and it looks just as hard now as it did on Day one. Where will we be in the next seven years?
Is there a military solution to this war? Afghanistan is not Iraq, you have to be be ill informed even to think it.

No. We Americans are still kicking butt! But, we also care about civilians and will risk our lives not to mistake them for militants. The Taliban militants exploit this but we will not let them.
