Question by forrstarr: How should a documentary filmmaker ask a filming location’s owner, to shoot there?
Basically, I want to shoot inside a business, but I am uncertain how to approach the owner and also how should I ask for his permission? I want to be careful to protect my idea and not get ripped off.

should just ask….don’t give him details…just tell him of your intentions…..and always throw in that it will be good for business…..be prepared to tell him how long you will need…and assure him that you will not interfere w/ his business as well… i guess it also depends on what kind of business it is….but first put the business on a pedistol….like how you love the layout or the cozy feeling you get….stuff like that….best of luck….
