How to choose the right art school?

Question by Ash: How to choose the right art school?
im a sophomore in high school n i really really REALLY wanna go to an art university or college but not sure how to make the right choice. I want to be able to get a job after graduating from college and i believe that schools like SCAD, OTIS, and CCA could do that for me buttt…..i dont feel like thats the right college enviorment for me. i feel as if id enjoy myself alot more at an art institute like san diego, Los angels, or mayb even AAU were everythings about art and i love all the majors they offer, theres more variety. the ppl and the community is more me but i fear i wont get my moneys worth or a good enough education to get a job after words and would of wasted my time (from the reviews i hav read online). so if anyone knows a school that they think would fit me perfectly or know about these schools a little bit more thn others id appreciate it if you would comment on this. (a littlt bit about me: i wanna do game design and/or film production, i play softball like to swim, like anime and distinctive styles, i love music mostly hardcore screamo n techno. easy to get along with and could never go through life with out friends)
or the art institute of seattle

The trick for a good art school is simple:

1- Check that is regionally accredited (none of the schools of the national chain “the art institute” is regionally accredited).

2- I you are going to do the effort of paying for an art school, which the median is $ 35k a year just in tuition, you should try to go to the best in the country (Pratt, The Art Institute of Chicago, SVA) or if you are extremely talented, you may try Cooper Union.

3- If you really want to do game design, the only school which I would recommend that has that program is Columbia College of Chicago. At least is the only one I know that has the program and is not a horrible school.

4- Work in your portfolio. If you don’t have one when you graduate, the chances of getting in any decent art school are really small.

5- Check what kind of jobs people get once they are out of the school and what percentage actually gets a job.

6- If for any reason, you don’t get accepted in a decent art school, I recommend you going to a traditional college. Probably you will have the same kind of experience in the department as an art school, but you will also have a bigger background of knowledge in other things which will help you to accomplished your ideas.
