I want to be a screenwriter, where do I start?

Question by Simplyblue: I want to be a screenwriter, where do I start?
I admire the people who have managed to write epic shows, like Avatar the Last Airbender and Teen Titans. But where do I start? What should I major in? Anyone I should contact? Usually, I’ve been accustomed to novel style writing and such, but I think I want to turn my direction towards tv shows because it seems to create stronger characters and plots since it has a longer time frames.

Avatar was far from great screenwriting…but you could start by taking college classes for it, and then write a screenplay and network with other people in the film business and see if you can make something happen
