A behind-the-scenes film about the Sidmouth-based Donkey Sanctuary is now available to buy on DVD. “The Donkey Sanctuary 40 Years On DVD” provides a definitive insight into the global efforts of the charity and is narrated by the founder, Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, MBE. It has been produced to commemorate the charitys 40th anniversary and will be used to help with awareness and fundraising. Dawn Vincent, the Sanctuary’s Senior PR Officer who has helped produce the DVD says: “This film will provide you with a greater understanding of the extent of our work. You may even consider it as an ideal gift as we have captured some fantastic footage of donkeys throughout the eight chapters included. “In the 40 years we have been running, so much has changed and this is the best way of seeing what goes on behind the scenes of, what is now, the largest Donkey Sanctuary in the world.” The film has been produced by local film maker Alan Tibbetts, of Digital Videoex Productions based in Exminster, Devon. He says: “This production has taken me to different parts of the world, as well as many locations in the UK. I have witnessed, first-hand, the incredible work being carried out as far afield as Egypt and Spain. Its been an extremely fulfilling experience, it has been very emotive for me and I hope I have done justice to such a worthwhile organisation. The DVD has a run time of 1hr 22minutes.
