The film is directed by George Varghese, a former assistant to Joshy. Thanthonni stars Prithviraj and Sheela in the lead roles.Shoot for the film started on November 6, 2009. The main locations were Kochi, Ottapalam, Pollachi and Dubai. The film wrapped up shooting by mid of January, 2010 and started post production. The publicity and promotions were being done by the Kochi based ‘Strikers & Crew’ who had also worked on Prithviraj’s Puthiya Mukham.
