Question by mannyf: Is it better to be in LA or NYC if you want to be a screenwriter?
I know Los Angeles is considered to be the film capital of the U.S. but NYC also has a lot of film. However, there are more prominent in theater and some TV. Thus, bringing me to the question, which place would it be “easier” to get an agent for screenwriting? Furthermore, aside from schools such as NYU, USC, UCLA, is there any schools in the LA or NY area that would be beneficial to go to and that are still a lot cheaper than those other schools? NYFA in either LA or NY perhaps? What internships can you take that will help in screenwriting? Thank you.

A friend of mine moved to the West Coast to pursue screenwriting. She is attending Chapman University in Orange for their program. You might want to check that out.
