Question by ND Fan: Is there anyone less tolerant than a “tolerant liberal”?
They’re all about freedom of speech…as long as that speech agrees with theirs.
In this case, Thomas A. Negri, managing director of Loew’s Vanderbilt Hotel and Office complex in Nashville “cancelled a contract with a conservative foundation to hold a conference this weekend on radical Islam, apparently after learning that the group would feature a keynote address by controversial Dutch parliamentarian and filmmaker, Geert Wilders”.
Can you imagine the uproar if someone refused to allow CAIR to stage an event in this manner?
john: There was a contract. The conference organizers should sue the living bejeezus out of the hotel and him personally. As I said, imagine the shoe were on the other foot and tell me you’d be OK with it.
inter: “Negri also serves on the board of advisors of the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, TIRRC, an activist group that states its mission ‘is to empower immigrants and refugees throughout Tennessee to develop a unified voice’ and ‘defend their rights.'”
Fundamentalist Christians do not fly planes into buildings, lop off the heads of “infidels”, and riot over cartoons of Jesus.
ben: When was the last time you read of a leftist speaker being shouted down or prevented from speaking by conservatives? It just doesn’t happen.
