The award-winning, India-born film producer and director joins the show. He is one of the few filmmakers who has proved himself in both Hollywood and India’s Bollywood, producing big-screen blockbusters with an eye for detail. When he was young, his parents discouraged him from entering the film industry, but he persisted with the craft and became one of the few to make a successful move from the Indian film industry to Hollywood and then continued to work across the two. Shekhar Kapur’s first big hit – The Bandit Queen – in 1994 was based on the true story of Phoolan Devi, a lower-caste robber, and her gang. The controversy surrounding the film and its commercial success helped to raise Shekhar Kapur’s profile internationally and led to him directing the Hollywood academy award-winning blockbuster Elizabeth in 1998, and its equally grand sequel Elizabeth: The Golden Age nearly a decade later. Despite his fame as a movie director, Kapur’s skills have also extended to some acting, modeling, voice-over work and, most significantly, producing a string of feature films and stage productions for his growing international audience.

In the process I found a cool way to overcome my challenges with recording high quality hd video – and the awesome photographer Drew Gardner played a majore role in that. In this video I am going to tell you how I go about to take this chance as a photographer. The DSLR video capabilities make it possible for us to produce video in absolutely brilliant cinematic quality on a shoestring budget. This has never been possible before. I guess those of us who take this chance and develop this discipline will seriously clean up. And even if it is not about the commercial intent, I found that shooting video is actually a lot of fun, once I knew certain tricks.
