Question by Jeebus B.: Can anyone please explain the appeal of reality television?
I just don’t get it. Reality TV is a cancer on the testicle of American television. It’s not like a good documentary movie, because it’s all so cheated & fake & not reality at all — they completely manipulate it. Nor is a well-contructed story, like a scripted show can occasionally be. The people are always so stupid and shallow. Why would you want to see who can best kiss Donald Trump’s butt? Why is it appealing to see who can best stab somone else in the back? They always use the same cheesy music that’s supposed to be dramtic, the same poor production values, and they’re always populated by the same brain-dead, wanna-be actors or models. They promote shallowness and stupidity. They take the place of shows that could be smart, funny & well-written. Over the last 10 years or so, I keep thinking they’ll disappear, but they just won’t go away! Please explain the appeal!

I don’t get it either, they aren’t ‘reality’ at all. I especially hate the ones for money or love.
