Question by 2Quinn: graphic arts/digital media/digital filmmaking help?
Well I’ve been trying to find the name of the job of those people who edit the pictures in picture studios, making the picture look brighter, adding effects, and backgrounds and such. Do you know what field I would have to study and do you know what those people are called? I’m trying to find the field so I could study it in college, however, it’s so hard. Some people tell me graphic designing while others tell me digital filmmaking but when I research graphic designing…it doesn’t talk about editing pictures…it talks about drawing..and blending both together…and as for the digital filmmaking thing…it talks mainly about creating a film and editing a film…. please help me… i’m struggling to find a career to study.

That is pretty much what a photographers assistant does. All assistants usually have taken photography and are photographers in their own right.
On the other hand, film making is a totally different field of endeavor … sort of like the difference between a MD and dentist … both took pre-med, but went down different career paths.
