Question by Puck: Help with becoming a screenwriter?
I want to someday become a screenwriter making comedies, and to me it seems like a lot of comedic screenwriters get there start in standup, which is also something I’d like to do. Do you think I’d have a better shot at being a screenwriter if I did standup or should I focus my time more on writing scripts instead?

Well writing funny scripts and writing stand up are alot alike. I say focus on getting the essence of “your” funny and originality through stand up and find out whats funny and whats not.
Than you can also do screenwriting along with it.
