Question by Sarah Naik: Is there someone who can help me with stats problem.?
Ryan, Inc. has been manufacturing steel sheets that have averaged 55 years of life. The company has developed a more efficient technology for its production and now advertises that its new steel produce averages more than 55 miles years of life. An independent testing service tested 45 of the steel produce. The sample showed an average of 56.2 years of life with a standard deviation of 5. With a 0.05 level of significance:
a) do you accept or reject the manufacturer’s claim ?
b) What is the p-value associated with the sample results ?
Do we need to use Hypothesis ? How do we do this problem ? Please help.
