Q&A: Which university should I go to out of these two options…?

Question by Sarah Dylan *Child of the Moon*: Which university should I go to out of these two options…?
Oh hey!

I’ve applied to uni this year to study different variants of Scriptwriting and Acting. Although I have 5 choices, there are only two that I am seriously considering. I have an offer for one of those, UEA, (800 people applied and there were only 4 places, so pretty chuffed with that!) and nothing yet from York. This is a hypothetical question based on the grounds that York also want me but give me the same offer, meaning I can’t have one as my insurance choice. Which one should I choose???

University of East Anglia:
Consistently in the top 20. The university is incredibly well renowned for writing course. I like the city, although the campus is a little concretey. It’s got some pretty awesome alumni including the current Doctor Who and Ian McEwan, and the professor of creative Writing there wrote The Last King of Scotland, the film for which was awarded an Oscar. Someone who did my course there is nominated for an Oscar for best script this year. The course is more focused on the two elements of writing and acting and the facilities are standard. Always comes top out of my two choices for student satisfaction. Also one of my best friends will probably be going there.

University of York:
Consistently in the top 10. I’ve not been there but form pictures and videos the campus looks nicer and the city look just as nice as Norwich. The uni recently spent £30 million on facilities for my department including two television broadcasting sets, a green screen, film editing suites, two theaters, a cinema and sound rooms. As well as the elements of writing and acting I would be involved in directing and production, so it may not be as focused but I get more experience of different things and I get to work with film and television as well as straight theatre. In addition to this my boyfriend will probably be going there.

This is only hypothetical of course as I may not receive an offer for York or (hopefully) they might not be the same grade. But hypothetically, I’m tied and have no clue which I would choose.

Help me out, please?

Please give me your personal choice and your reason.
Forgot to add, my course at UEA is the best one the university does and is also the best scriptwriting course in the country as well as the most selective.
