You’d have to be really slick — I’ve seen lots of extras try to get close to those people on the set and it’s usually a disaster. And most of the time the extras don’t really get very close to the people who count.
On the other hand, you don’t have anything to lose by trying. And you do get the direct experience of how shooting movies works.
