This video was created by myself and two of my classmates at Notre Dame Sixth Form College in Leeds for our AS Level Media Studies coursework, 2008/2009. It is a music video for the song “Shaking” by the band Sugarcult, and although the song is obviously the Sugarcult original, all the footage in the video is our own, filmed and edited by us. Emily Stevens created the storyboard for this video, coming up with and expanding on the narrative. She also acted as the “production manager” in our group, dealing with casting, costume, props etc. In addition, she stars in the video itself and you will see her as Girl 03! Holly Ridge also acts in the video as Girl 02, and it is down to her that we got the appropriate locations for filming (real student rooms for a realistic effect) and she also got us in touch with the band who star throughout the video. The band featured are After The Departure, an independent band from Leeds. Although we had to use the original track for the video itself, in all the footage where you see the band they are genuinely playing the song.
