i really want to try it and everything but, i only have a regular digital camera and a film photographer camera.

do i need a digital photography camera?

does it look good for colleges?

Depends on what you want to be. If you want to be a reporter than it will look good if you have that extra knowledge. But most importantly if you are passionate about photography than you should do it! But if you are only doing it to look good on your resume than don’t. You have to really like a subject to take it as an elective or else you will be miserable. At my school they provided their own SLR cameras so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. If they don’t supply them than a digital camera should be fine if you are not too serious about photography just yet.
