Question by DorthyGail T: should i stay or should i go now?
m a newly divorced woman and mommy of a three month old. I had quit my job right before i found out i was pregnant and was married at tthe time. when i was divorced and pregnant i tried to work part time a respectable job but then was evicted from my apartment my ex wasnt sending his spousal maint. on time, and my pay checks were enough to make my high car payment. he abandoned us and i was way in over my head. imoved four times while pregnant the eventually my nice suv was repoed and i was stuck without a car or job and three months behind on all my bills. my parents havent helped once during my pregnancy. my baby was born in march and thats the only month my ex paid his full amount of spousal support. our arrangement was the support was enought ot live off of for three years til she went to school and i could work full time. needless to say im in a bind and wanting to take care of her. my question is, since my family hasnt helped me and we arent close anyways except for my aunt and grandma, do i stay here and try to get on state housing and be with my baby fulltime, raise her around people who love her? (since i grew up so far away from a grandma i wanted her to have that) or move out of state where i know i have jobs lined up since ive been interviewing all this month? the money i do have is limited so what i do with it now i have to be sure, i dont know when i will get anymore? im getting assistance from the state but dont want to live that way, ive always done good for myself. its hard to thinkif i move and work full time, someone else will be raising her..but i will have my ex sister in law and her newborn and my ex mother in law that we all get along great, they will be close by. the old me is independent and would of already been gone after the divorce. i need some advice from people who have been through this because it just doesnt effect my life it does my little one too. I also have sole custody, so hes outa the picture, hes also self employeed so the money he sends me is whenever he wants to send it.

Additional Details
1. In my state, KS, you can get divorced while pregnant.
2. Child Support is enforced, its whether he pays it or not…without a car I am unable to keep filing motions. But have talked to the court trustee.
3. I have gone to college and am a Cosmetology Instructor. Cutting hair will be easy to find a good paying job.
4. Nothing bad happened between my mom and I, she is still raising my younger siblings that live at home and are 22 and 18. So, Im much older and on my own since I was 18. We arent close knit.
Lastly, my inlaws werent going to be my sitters,I was planning on finding someone who were childcare professionals since my SIL has a newborn and a fulltime job and my MIL has a fulltime job.
