In January of 2010, a group of English A-Level students including myself were given the task of presenting a unique interpretation of William Shakespere’s Macbeth, in our case re-enacting the infamous opening featuring three (or four!) dazzingly wicked witches in the midst of a homage to The Blair Witch Project. The project was filmed over two days. Although a fantastic experience, the process was nonetheless grueling; with us being seemingly plauged by a sequence of bizzare events-from being chased by dogs, to having kids throw sticks at us (!) to all of us coincidently falling ill, right after filming. Regardless; it payed off- being entered into CineClubs prestigious young filmmaking competiton, whereby dozens and dozens of schools compete-hosted at the BFI Centre in Southbank, Central London. And guess what? Nearly two years after HEAD BOY, we’ve all done it again; winning BEST FILM! A special thank-you to all involved, of whom it would not have been possible.
