Question by Samf17: Types of directors i.e. cinema (independent and mainstream), TV, music video, documentary etc..?
As part of a module on my course I need to write about different directing roles, their responsibilities and the freedom they have during production.
Does anyone know of any websites where I could find this information? Or even better, know anything about it themselves?

Ultimately a director is a director but directors do TEND to specialise, or move in certain genres.
Often a mainstream movie maker will have come from independant cinema, TV or documentaries and occasionally music video.
Some movie makers do TV.
