Question by ohw-is-me!: what is the difference between a film producer and a film director?
i want to be the person who basically is in charge of choosing the actors and actresses in the movie and the person who gets to decide to cut something or leave something in, etc. which person would that be? thanks!!

You want the director, although the casting director (not the film director) generally chooses who is in the movie. The director determines scene placement, how a scene should be played out (speed, location, etc.).
The producer is generally the one who fronts the money to pay for the film, so they do have some control because they have the dough. But that’s not what you want.
