Question by mrc489: What’s a good mini dv video camera?
I’m hoping to get a good quality video camera for making short films. Mini dv is a must,i don’t like digital. I want something that you can’t just go to best buy and get. And it must be compatible with a wide angle lens. I’m looking to spend around $ 300. Any suggestions? I’m hoping to go to film school but I want to do some work beforehand. I’m currently shooting a short in super 8mm
I’m not so crazy about real small camcorders. I like the ones with the handles on top. Something more professional. Even if it’s an old model.

You aren’t even going to find a used MiniDV camera for $ 300. A Canon HV40 seems perfect for your use except the price! : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001OI2Z4Q?ie=UTF8&tag=thebubrocpro-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001OI2Z4Q
The next best camera for you would be a Sony HDR-CX100 at $ 170 off if you buy it before Dec 12th here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PY41YQ?ie=UTF8&tag=thebubrocpro-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001PY41YQ
You can buy lenses for Sony as well.
