Question by JD: Who is upset about new reality show The Lot?
I mean, Im in highschool. I’ve always wanted to be a filmmaker and Im enrolled in college to major in that subject. I know the competition in the film industry is bad as it is. Do we really need more exposure? People are gonna watch this show and over night decide that they want to become a filmmaker too. That is only gonna make my job a whole lot harder. I’m pissed. Who else?

Becoming a successful film maker is like winning the lottery. The chances of actually making it are pretty slim. I don’t think picking a couple people is going to make your chances any lower. These people have talent, and if it gives them the slightest edge of making their chances greater, then I say, good for them. Maybe next year you can submit a movie and maybe Spielberg will peg you as the next great filmmaker. If not, as long as you have original ideas, then I guess you’ve got just as good a chance as anyone else at making it big.
I think it’s unfair to assume that just because people enter a contest it means that they are not as passionate about film making.
