Question by Melissa: would anyone care to help me compare colleges?
I’m a wannabe director who’s planning to go to film school (or any good school that supports that major well…) and I am stuck between two schools…
The first one is (or appears to be) cheaper, located in a very safe city… on the downside, since this campus doesn’t have student housing I’d have to get my own place and commute back and forth (flipside of that, I’d actually have my own place and not be forced home for the summer!)
here’s some info on that college – http://www.artinstitutes.edu/sunnyvale/Admissions/TuitionAndFees.aspx (for the dropdown menu, choose digital filmmaking and video production the second one would be BA)
The second one seems to be a tiny bit more expensive, but AAU is like the Harvard of art schools… it offers more and the instructors there are professionals in what they teach… it’s got campus housing so I won’t be forced to pay bills, but for the following school year instead… it could be easier to get into because all applicants are accepted, even ones who didn’t do well in high school or previous colleges (good for me considering my last English grade last semester…)
some info on AAU – http://www.academyart.edu/admissions/tuition_rates.html
which do you think would be the better college to attend?

AAU is way better and the name of the school probably will help you later on. You can also consider UCLA cuz its one of the best for majoring in film
